Winter Coat Giveaway at I3 Academy

Distribution of winter coats and food boxes

December means Christmas and Christmas means the weather is getting colder by the day. For families in need, this can be a dreaded time due to the inability to afford proper clothing for the temperature. To ensure our community has the resources needed for this season, the Power of Life Foundation hosted the Hearth & Soul Winter Coat Giveaway on Saturday 18th December 2021 at the I3 Academy in Birmingham, Alabama.

The event was designed to be a shopping type of experience for families. With a wide range of items for boys, girls, men, and women, all provided by local partners. Some of these items included over 1,000 new winter coats, face masks, socks, hand sanitizers, t-shirts, gloves, hats, scarves, toys, cookies, cupcakes, backpacks, and much more. We must make mention of the I3 Academy generously donating over 100 food boxes to the families in need that came by.

The community gifted over 1,000 brand new winter coats and 100 food boxes.

Music played by DJ Fresh created a festive atmosphere and Santa Claus was on site for pictures. Also, provided by Councilor Kevin Dunn and Peabody Party Rental, were inflatables for the children to enjoy. The event saw many pleased and smiling faces. The Power of Life Foundation is committed to helping foster positive community culture and we are proud to have hosted yet another successful charity event.

None of what we do is possible without the gracious sponsorship of Soles4Souls, Walmart, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, State Representative Louise Alexander, Alabama Leadership Foundation, Buffalo Rock Pepsi, Reebok, Hanes Brands, Kiss98.7 FM, Councilor Kevin Dunn, Peabody Party Rental, Enterprise Rental Cars. A huge thank you to Heather, the toys that made the event even more special.

If you would like to find out how you can join the Foundation or volunteer for our upcoming events, send us an email at  info@poweroflifefoundation.org.
