POLF Brings Cheer to Jacksonville

Distribution of care packages and winter coats

“It was a blessing..”, this was the feedback we received from our joint outreach event with Miles College Trio Program on Friday 18th February 2022 at Miles College Gymnasium. The event featured a festive atmosphere, with live music and food, aimed at welcoming the students and creating a sense of community.

We hosted this Student Outreach, specifically in honor of Black History Month.

Acknowledging that College life can be particularly difficult for students who are less fortunate, we sought to provide items needed to sustain them during the cold winter months. Some of the items included free food, winter coats, masks, gloves, boots, socks, hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner, personal care items, snacks, and much more. These items are often overlooked by those in need and can be crucial in maintaining good health and hygiene.

live music and food, aimed at bringing people together and creating a sense of community.

The event was a success, and the Power of Life Foundation received recognition for its efforts in the local news. The news segment highlighted the impact of the joint outreach event on the community and the importance of organizations like the Foundation in supporting those in need. According to one of our Founders, Lane Harper, “It’s just about reciprocity, treating people like you want to be treated. You don’t just speak it, actually execute it”.

We would like to say a heartfelt “thank you” to all our vendors, supporters, and volunteers who share in the vision of what we try to accomplish at every event. We are always privileged to have these caring individuals on board every step of the way.

The event serves as a testament to the impact we can all collectively have on the lives of those who are struggling and the importance of community efforts in creating positive change.
